DAY 6 (HB) - Collect your hire car and depart Havana. Today your route takes you via Guines and Cienfuegos to the Old Colonial town of Trinidad. Trinidad is a perfectly preserved Spanish colonial settlement where the clocks stopped in 1850 and apart from the arrival of tourists, have yet to restart. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988, Cuba's oldest and most enchanting 'outdoor museum' attracts lots of visitors, yet the cobblestone streets with its leather-faced guajiros (country folk), snorting donkeys and melodic troubadours, retain a quiet air. Come nightfall, the live-music scene is particularly good. You'll enjoy 2 nights at Casa Lola with dinner included on the first night - Milage approx. 195 miles
DAY 7 - At leisure in Trinidad. Trinidad is surrounded by sparkling natural attractions. Twelve kilometers south lies platinum-blond Playa Ancón, the best beach of Cuba’s south coast. Looming 18km to the north, the purple-hued shadows of the Sierra del Escambray (Escambray Mountains) offer a lush adventure playground with hiking trails and waterfalls.
DAY 8 (AI) - Departing Trinidad after breakfast today you'll head north via Aguada de Pasajeros, Jaguey Grande and San Miguel de los Banos to the Cuban resort of Varadero where you spend the next 7 nights at the excellent Blau Hotel on an 'All Inclusive' basis.
DAYS 9 to 14 (AI) - Relaxing at the Hotel Blau in Varadero. Covering Cuba’s narrow Hicacos Peninsula, Varadero is a popular beach resort town. Along its 20km of Atlantic Ocean coastline is a string of all-inclusive hotel and spa complexes, and a golf course. Near the peninsula’s eastern tip is Reserva Ecológica Varahicacos, a preserve with trails and an ancient burial cave.
DAY 15 - Transfer by taxi to Havana Airport for your return Virgin Atlantic flight back to London.
DAY 16 - Arrive back in London
