DAY 1 (D) - Morning P&O Ferry departure from Dover to Calais (other routes available) followed by the drive via Northern France and Belgium to the Van der Valk Hotel in Verviers. After check-in and some free time to freshen up, dinner is included at the hotel - Mileage: approx. 200 miles.
DAY 2 (HB) - Breakfast followed by the drive through the Eifel Mountains en route to the Rhine Valley. Your routing today takes you via Euskirchen and Bad Neuenahr to the city of Koblenz which is situated at the confluence of the Moselle & Rhine rivers. From Koblenz you'll follow the Rhine south through Boppard and Sankt Goar where you'll pass the famous Lorelei Rock. It's then on to Assmanshausen and the famous town of Rüdesheim where you'll enjoy the next 2 nights. Enjoy the Drosselgasse in Rüdesheim, described as the “merriest street in the world”. This is without doubt due to the atmospheric music that can be heard all around. Singing, dancing and light-hearted inhabitants set the mood on the street. DAY 3 (BB) - Breakfast followed by the day at leisure in Rüdesheim. A highlight of any stay in Rüdesheim is the ride in a cable car up to the Neiderwald monument. The awe-inspiring panoramic views over Rüdesheim's oldtown and the shimmering waters of the Rhine dotted with green isles make the smooth glide over the vineyards a very special experience. The station at the base can be found in the pedestrianised area on Oberstrasse. Adults: € 7.00 return trip, € 5.00 one-way, € 8.00 'cable car/chair lift' Rhine Cruises depart from Rüdesheim (jetty 8) at 9.15am, 11am and 2pm; and from Assmannshausen (jetty 3) at 9.40am, 11.30am and 2.30pm. There are also castle tours between Rüdesheim and Bingen. The evening is at leisure to enjoy the Drosselgasse.
Day 4 (BB) - The day is at leisure in Rhudesheim or exploring the Rhine Valley. In the evening, the night sky of the Middle Rhine Valley will light-up as Europe’s largest ship procession winds its way from Spay/Braubach to Koblenz. It’s an unforgettable experience that ties in with the three-day Koblenzer Sommerfest. Between 60 and 70 ships will travel the illuminated 17-km route from Spay/Braubach to Koblenz. 25,000 visitors will watch the fireworks spectacle from the passenger ships, whilst an additional 100,000 visitors will enjoy a varied and entertaining programme in the towns of Spay, Brey, Rhens, Braubach, Lahnstein and Koblenz. Day 5 (BB) - The day is at leisure in Rhudesheim and to explore the Rhine Valley.
OR - Why not visit one of the amazing transport museums in Speyer or Sinsheim. The Auto & Technic Museum Sinsheim - attractions include two fully accessible supersonic jets (Concorde and Tupolev TU-144), hundreds of classic cars and motorcycles, huge steam engines and a military history exhibition, whilst at the Technic Museum Speyer you can wander around the inside of a jumbo jet, a submarine and a sea rescue cruiser. Day 6 (BB) - Breakfast followed by departure from Rudesheim.. Your journey then continues via the Mosel Valley the picture postcard towns of Cochem and Bastogne en route to Dinant and the Meuse River and the excellent 3 star Riverside Ibis Hotel. The evening is at leisure in Dinant - Mileage - approx. 195 miles
Day 7 (BB) - Departing Dinant the hotel after breakfast, today your routing follows the Meuse River Valley to Namur and from here you'll make your final journey back to Calais for your crossing to the UK - Mileage - approx. 178 miles
