The Cairngorms & Scotland's
NORTH EAST 250

A wonderful 8 day tour to the Cairngorms, Fort William and incorporating Scotland's North East 250. The Cairngorms is an area home to lush forests, adorable Highland villages, fantastic wildlife, wild open spaces and of course its very own arctic mountain plateau! Combine this with a unique Scottish road trip on the North East 250 through whisky distilleries, mountain passes, famous castles, rugged coastline, and picturesque seaside villages.

Scotland is home to some fantastic road trips and the North East 250 is no exception. This road trip includes Speyside, Aberdeenshire, and the Cairngorms National Park. The route is home to excellent whisky distilleries, fantastic stretches of coastline, cute villages, museums, castles, golf courses, and epic scenery. It’s also a much less travelled route than some of Scotland’s other road trips, making for an overall fantastic experience. The route runs in a loop, from Glenshee in the Cairngorms National Park, around the Moray Firth coast of Scotland. Along the way it passes through towns like Ballindalloch, Cullen, Fraserburgh, and Aberdeen.

Fort William, lying in the shadow of Ben Nevis is known as the ‘Outdoor Capital of the UK’ and the main town in Lochaber. Fort William’s setting is dramatic, on the shore of Loch Linnhe, and under the mighty hulk of Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis. Just a few minutes from the town is Glen Nevis, one of Scotland’s most picturesque Highland glens. The glen is formed from the flank of Ben Nevis and two other mountains and has the River Nevis flowing through it.

Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park is where the lowlands and highlands meet, with varied scenery of rolling lowland landscapes, tranquil lochs and rugged mountains in the north. Steeped in history and heritage, with ruined castles, charming towns and villages, archaeological discoveries and scenery admired by famous poets in times gone by.

The Firth of Clyde Coastline is known as West of Scotland's playground. It is separated from the mainland by the Kyles of Bute, a narrow winding strait and encompasses a number of islands, and several Sea Lochs that creates a body of water stretching from Southern Scotland to the tip of Loch Fyne.
